Fortuna's blessing

It is a well known fact by those who follow Fortuna that the goddess provides blessings among a select few. These individuals rarely have any common traits, coming from known families or complete obscurity, ehanced, standard, or other. They may have met her in passing or not known of her at all. No matter, she has chosen them to receive her "blessing" for better or for worse.    The act itself seems innocous. Sometimes, its a kiss on the forehead or a caress of the hand. There are even some accounts of a day long ritual where she danced for several hours before bestowing it. Like her recipients, there is no pattern to the action or magic, bestowment occurs however she sees fit at the time.   What might one expect? Well, good fortune for starters. Good things happen to the person, meeting memorable people, surviving fatal encounters, excelling in their trade. The "lucky" recipient seems to catch all manner of breaks from time to time.    However, luck often flows both ways.
