The Sea Dogs
The Sea Dogs, is the name for Union’s vaunted fleet. It was coined by members of the fleet as the Union’s emblem is that of a wolf, so it was just a natural that they adopted the name Sea Dogs. All of the fleet was built and is stationed in either Greenstone or Janmark. Furthermore, a large portion of the sailors and almost all of the officers come from the two cities’ naval academies: The Stormhold Academy, and The Verdant Spire Academy. Being stationed in the Emerald Isle geographically located between Federation and Republic lands the Sea Dogs patrol all of the Sea of Bourne. They do venture down the Mongave River, however, with the majority of Central Iberrios landlocked, they are not as powerful. Furthermore, with no Union territories in the Southern Reaches of Iberrios the Sea Dogs really dont go further south than Labrie. Currently the fleet stands about 70 ships strong, and currently more are under production. Their primary roles is to serve as protection for shipping lines all throughout the Sea of Bourne as well as policing maritime law, and finally combat piracy, which is prevalent along the busy shipping lanes.
