Session 2.38
General Summary
With the Summit of Nations growing ever closer, the party had made a list of people they had to meet prior to the event. Thus far, the party:
- Made an acquaintance with Master Nobu, aka the Fist of the Sun.
- Had recruited the city’s master smith’s apprentice, Quo, to go and work at the Amethyst Isle while also upgrading the aesthetic of weapons, and armor.
- Met with two Veilguard Sentinels and helped them close a rift.
- Most recently, returned to the Amethyst Isle, learned about the death of Lawrence Stardew, and handed over the Book of Woe to Archsage Amadeous Pendergast.
After meeting with Archsage, the group found themselves back in the main thoroughfare of the Presidential Plaza District outside the Archsage’s pocket dimension. Still ruminating on the information the last few hours, Priestess Luna was the target of what appeared to be a thieving event having her diamonds stolen.
Rhorn and a patrol of Emerald Cloaks pursued a figure through the streets in an attempt to retrieve her diamond. However, it appeared as if Priestess Luna was just the first mark in a larger operation. Within the matter of minutes a larger heist unfolded, where in an adjacent store, an angry customer caused a scene by throwing a large bag of flour into the streets causing a white cloud of white powder to envelope the immediate area. After the cloud had dissipated, a handful of pedestrians and customers realized they had their belongings stolen.
Identifying herself as a the epicenter fo the attack, the Priestess cast invisibility on herself and followed a suspicious looking figure meandering around the crime scene, meanwhile Fannti decided to assist some of the Emerald cloaks with their investigation. Taking inventory of the possessions that have been stolen. Rhorn had followed his mark to a manhole leading to the district's sewer system. The network eventually led to an empty underground tavern. As he was investigating, Rhorn soon discovered that the Emerald Cloak that was “assisting” him was also part of the operation, leading to an eventual showdown with the city guard.
At the same time Priestess Luna had managed to catch up and apprehend her mark, and upon surrenduring him to the Emerald Cloaks, they had expressed that upon inspection he had no evidence to corroborate the Priestess's story and ultimately she was directed to their office where she could file a formal inquiry. Taking matters into her own hands the Priestess returned to where she apprehended the individual, (Good for what Ale’s You) and while investigating she discovered an injured Rhorn fighting off some assailants. Together the two were able to fight off a few thieves. In a rage, Rhorn sliced through two thieves in a manner similar to that of some bandits in Feyrun.
Before more thieves could return the two decided to run. Fortuitously Rhorn and the Priestess had run into Fannti and Zhorn, told them about their run in, and decided to return to the Villa leaving Fannti and Zhorn to update the authorities. Fannti and Zhorn led the two back to the indicated, but upon their arrival to the subterranean tavern the bodies, the blood, and pretty much everything had been cleaned up. In fact the authorities stated they were aware of the space which was used as a late night tavern for some of the nobles in the city looking for a private space to unwind.
Once everyone returned to the VIlla, they were surprised to see an old friend, Lord Melchior Greenleaf, who was looking to disclose some information with you about a potential attack that he has been tracking.
