The Eye of Je'Grol

A magical device created by the Witch Hunt in order to find occult magic. Many members of the Hunt carry one of these devices, and they give them to certain allies that they trust won't misuse them.

A thin, fairly ornate amulet crafted into the shape of an open eye. The pupil of the eye has been cut out, allowing a person to see through it.

Once a day, the attuned user can use a bonus action to peer through the eye and see magical effects and items as with Detect Magic spell. This effect lasts 5 minutes but does not require concentration. The magical power of the amulet is recharged at the dawn of each day.

Additionally, the amulet becomes intensely cold if it is within 10 feet of occult magic. This type of magic can come from things such as a demon, devil, void touched, or unholy creature. This feature works for anyone, not just a person attuned to it.

Manufacturing process

Though historians have figured out what is needed to make the object, the exact steps on creating it are unknown.

Significance

One of the more useful and widespread inventions of the Witch Hunt. It was historically used as a device to find magical items with connections to the occult, but eventually the items were modified to also help figure out the purpose of such items. While the item is connected to Je'Grol, only a few would want themselves associated with the object, as it is a source of fear for decades after the threat of Nordea had been dealt with. The stigma has largely been forgotten in current times however and it is recognizable only by priests and historians.

Steel blessed by priests of Je'Grol, a powdered emerald and sapphire worth 50 gp each, and a small ingot of high quality silver. Most of the silver is lost during forging.
