Refined Sterea

Sterea is the solid form of Mana, appearing as a chunk of a crystalline substance with the colors of shifting silvers, purples, and light blues. Aside from its high energy density, shifting colors, and caramel-like scent, Sterea has no special qualities: It is not acidic, nor flammable, not very strong, but not especially weak. Because of Manas' low boiling point, 40 degrees Fahrenheit, finding natural Sterea is rare is Elgis, and because of it's lower freezing point, -3 degrees Fahrenheit, it is very hard to produce. Though, if Mana or Aerioueia is put under enough pressure, it will condense and change phase.   Despite the obstacles, a group of scientists at The Lampei Institute of Magic discovered that if Mana is sufficiently compressed and held firmly it will condense into Sterea. After this, if the Sterea is then crushed into a powder and sifted through many different sized filters, you will end up with six different sized particles. These particles are the individual magical elements that made up the Sterea to begin with.   A different group of researchers at The Lampei Institute of Magic used these findings to recreate the separated Sterea, released the elemental Sterea individually, turning it back into Mana, and then solidified back into Sterea.   Interestingly enough, this separated Sterea does not look like the usual Sterea, they are instead elementally colored. Upon further testing, it was discovered that this Sterea, now referred to as Refined Sterea, or shortened to R.S, can discharge their elemental magic in a controlled manner if put under enough pressure, greater pressure than that required to condense it .   This discovery is what launched the recent technological revolution.   R.F are often shaped into uniform cubes using molds and such so as to make the R.F easily usable and swappable in machinery, these are often known as R.F cubes.
