Pokini ((Poh-key-nee))

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Pokini without their covering are thin metallic machines that are vaguely humanoid, moving metallic parts mimicking the muscular structure of humans. However, almost all Pokini have a "skin" covering that stretches across their frame and makes them appear human, complete with realistic hair. In this skin are inlaid small channels on their limbs and their chests, where they disappear into a hatch that can display the internal mechanisms.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Pokini power themselves with raw or refined Sterea, consuming it in the manner of eating, where it is then stored in a tank in their chests.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

The bodies of Pokini are frequently stripped for metal by enterprising scavengers, or whatever the Razorfurs have not eaten. This can be dangerous however, if the Sterea within is still pressurized it could rupture its containment with too much jostling and cause it to react.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The broken bodies of Pokini can be found throughout Elgis, but they are found in the greatest quantities in the north-east.

Average Intelligence

Pokini were at least as intelligent as humans, complex mechanisms within their mechanical bodies creating consciousness and the ability to learn. There seems to be a limiter on how much knowledge a Pokini can store before it must discard previously gathered information.

Civilization and Culture

Major Language Groups and Dialects

The Pokini speak what seems to be a heavily archaic form of Mavanian, most likely the language of the pre-Andier civilizations.

History

The Pokini were used as a labor source by the pre-andier civilizations, primarily in the north.
Lifespan
As long as replacement parts are readily available, Pokini are essentially immortal.
Conservation Status
The Pokini are effectively extinct, the knowledge of their mechanisms and construction lost to time making it near impossible to make more of them.
Average Weight
Being made mostly of metal, Pokini weigh upwards of 200 lbs.
