Sylvathropy
Sylvathropy is a rare magical condition That has been recently discovered. It has been linked to Odessa, the blue moon, that causes a creature to partially or fully transform into a plant based humanoid such as a dryad like entity, vineborn beast, or bark skinned guardian during each full moon. While reminiscent of lycanthropy in its cyclical nature and involuntary shifts, sylvathropy is a botanical transformation rather than a bestial one, and far more entwined with the natural a forces of the world.
Causes
There are three widely accepted causes of sylvathropy:
1. A Druid’s Curse or Witch’s Wrath
By far the most common source. Druidic circles or hex casters invoke sylvathropy as punishment for crimes against the natural world especially against sacred groves, guardian beasts, or wild spirits.
2. Seed Pod Infection
When a sylvathrope attacks, their bite or touch may implant seed pods into a victim’s flesh. These pods bloom over several days, Slowly changing and prepping the host’s body until the next full moon triggers their transformation. The infected may experience dreamlike visions of roots, vines, and the moonlit forest as their body prepares to change.
3. The Wrath of Chikyu (Disputed)
Some claim the Earth Goddess Chikyu herself curses those who gravely offend her violators of ancient druidic law, destroyers of life-rich land, or defilers of old altars. Know There are those who say if Chikyu is curse people this way. Why wouldn't she make a divine version that's more powerful like for being permanent, harder to detect, or just turning them in to plant. Skeptics argue this is just another form of druidic punishment that being push off as Chikyu will… though few dare speak that aloud in wild country.

Symptoms
Roughly one week before Odessa's full moon, the afflicted begin to show signs:
On the first nights of Odessa’s full moon, the afflicted fully transform into their specific sylvathropic form and remain in that form for the next three days. The transformation feels different for each individual because of the diverse sorts and the way it is, but they all claim they feel like the body is slowing down, it's painful, and it appears to use the affected aura to change them. During this time, they lose most higher reasoning and become territorial defenders of plant life. They will roam forests, gardens, or any available greenery and may lash out violently at any perceived threat to the natural world.
This includes:
Those afflicted with this strain of sylvathropy do not become dryads do not be mistaken. Instead, they transform into towering, living trees that walk. The Were Treant form retains a humanoid shape but takes on the rough texture of bark, with branches sprouting from the shoulders, arms, and crown of the head. Leaves, moss, and occasional blossoms dot the upper body. Victims often grow a few feet taller during the transformation. This is the most common and widely recognized variant of sylvathropy.
Were Sundrop
In this form, the body becomes a network of vines and roots arranged like the stalk of a great flower. The head blossoms into a massive sunflower like bloom, its petals vivid and expressive. The anatomy is still vaguely Similar to inflicted original form, but covered in twisting greenery. A Were Sundrop looks like a walking flower strange, elegant, and alien.
Were Vine
Perhaps the most unsettling of the known strains, the Werevine form is made entirely of densely woven vines. No bones, no flesh just a shifting mass of greenery that coils and reforms itself constantly. The silhouette vaguely mirrors the original form shape, but there are no visible features beyond the braided tendrils. The being moves fluidly, almost unnaturally, and when it halts, the vines realign to maintain the inflicted original form.

Treatment
There is no standardized cure. Each case is unique, as the transformation is often woven with personalized symbolism, intent, or divine judgment. However:
The best chance for a cure lies in tracing the origin of the curse whether it be a specific spell, a corrupted forest, or a goddess’s ire. If that knowledge is lost or unknown, it may be possible to manage the symptoms with lunar wards, or temporary transformation-blocking spells... but full cleansing is rare.
- Avoid offending nature-based faiths
- Do not harm sacred groves or druidic lands
- Never disrespect a druid or hedge witch, no matter how harmless they may appear
- Do not ignore a scratch or bite from a stranger tree that just stabbed you.
