The Ring of All is a rare and dangerous artifact, said to grant its wearer the skills and knowledge of every previous owner. Within its gleaming band lies the echo of countless lives warriors, artists, scholars, assassins, and cooks alike. Whatever the ring’s past wearers mastered, you can draw upon with time and will.
At first, the ring’s gift feels like pure power: memories guide your hands, instincts sharpen your reflexes, and your body adapts to new abilities as if you had trained for years. But this blessing carries a cost. The deeper you draw from the ring, the more your mind begins to blur with those who came before fragments of emotion, habits, and even personality traits bleeding into your own.
Eventually, those fragments may whisper, argue, or even take shape within your dreams. The most skilled wearers learn to balance these presences, but others lose themselves entirely.
And at the very end of this chain of memories lies the will of the Progenitor the first and most dangerous wielder of the Ring of All. His essence still lingers within the artifact, waiting for one strong enough to bear his power… or weak enough for him to take control.
Effects & Drawbacks
Primary Effect: The wearer gains access to skills and partial abilities of previous owners, allowing faster training and instinctive knowledge of crafts, languages, or combat techniques.
Secondary Effect: The wearer gradually inherits fragments of the memories and emotions of former wielders. This may alter personality or emotional responses.
Danger: The more abilities drawn from the ring, the closer the wearer comes to awakening the Progenitor’s essence. If fully awakened, the Progenitor may possess the wearer’s body completely, using them as his new vessel.
Description
The Ring of All is a striking artifact of dark craftsmanship. Its band is forged from jet black metal, bordered by two thin silver rings that frame its loop. Three arched points extend from the band, each tipped with a deep blue gem that glimmers faintly in dim light.
Set atop the central arch rests a dark amber stone, faintly pulsing with inner light as if something within is still alive. Inside the band, delicate orange runic letters repeat the word “All” in an ancient script, forming a continuous pattern around the interior.
When the ring lies dormant, the band appears a smooth, featureless black. But when its power is awakened, faint runes of shimmering orange trace across the outer surface, revealing the name of the former wielder whose skills or memories are currently being drawn upon.
History & Origin
The Ring of All was created by Tacoma Torsinos, a ruthless warlord who conquered nearly half of the Babylon continent. Obsessed with his own greatness and fearing death, Tacoma forged the ring as a vessel for his soul ensuring his power would never fade with time.
He wore it as both crown and symbol of dominion, never removing it. Many sought to slay him for it, but only Lexrin Broombrush, a daring rebel general, succeeded. Yet victory was short-lived: soon after donning the ring, Lexrin began to change. His speech, habits, and ambitions twisted until Tacoma’s spirit resurfaced within him reborn through his own creation.
This grim cycle repeated twice more across generations. Each time, a new conqueror rose with the ring, only to fall to Tacoma’s creeping influence.
In time, a rebellion led by the oppressed nations rose up and shattered Tacoma’s final empire. The dynasty was destroyed, and the ring was believed lost forever though rumors persist that it still survives, waiting for another ambitious soul to claim it.
