Guiding Star

Guiding Star exists to help those in need, guide the next generation of adventurers, and provide a stable, non-governmental force for exploration, defense, and aid. Though not directly part of any kingdom’s military, it operates in cooperation with local rulers and laws, offering protection, problem-solving, and quest fulfillment across Raygon and beyond.

Structure

GS Region Guild Master

The highest rank, overseeing all Guiding Star operations in a regional territory. Coordinates between Unity Guild Masters and local governments to ensure harmony between guild and kingdom interests.

Unity Guild Master

Leads a major city or capital branch. Acts as a regional coordinator and political liaison. Sets guidelines for lawful adventuring in accordance with kingdom rules.

Guild Master

Leads an individual guildhall in a city or town. Oversees quests, adventurers, rule enforcement, and community engagement. Directly responsible for daily guild operations.

RA Mentor (Retired Adventurer Mentor)

Acts as a guide and trainer for adventurers. Mentors check in on parties, offer advice, review quest conduct, and often teach specialized skills.

Receptionist

Handles paperwork, supplies, quest postings, and reward distribution. Keeps the guild organized and functional behind the scenes.

Note: With the exception of the receptionist, nearly all leadership roles require prior adventuring experience. Guiding Star values veterans as essential guides for the next generation. That said, some retired adventurers still choose receptionist roles simply because they love being part of the guild’s daily life.

Adventurer Rank System

Adventurers are people who are willing to take on the world's strange, difficult, and often unpredictable tasks. They are individuals who are brave enough to put their life in danger—and want appropriate pay for it. Mutual respect is fundamental in the Guiding Star Guild. Every member, regardless of rank, contributes significantly to the guild's success. Support your guildmates, and never forget that you are stronger together.
  • 6-Star Adventurer: Legendary. Fewer than 10% ever reach this level. These adventurers have overcome world-shaking challenges and are often known across multiple kingdoms. Many form elite teams or act as freelance agents of change.
  • 5-Star Adventurer: Highly skilled and dependable. Their names are recognized within their kingdom, and they often mentor younger adventurers. They’ve survived serious trials and earned their place..
  • 3-Star Adventurer: The dependable core of the guild. Most career adventurers end here—respected, well-seasoned, and known within local regions.
  • 2-Star Adventurer: Freshly independent, with training wheels off. Cleared for most standard quests.
  • Starting Star Adventurer: New members. Welcome to the guild— time earn your stars!

Culture

Guild culture shifts slightly depending on region and services offered, but the heart remains the same: Teamwork, storytelling, and mutual support.

Adventurers love sharing tales of their quests, often exaggerating them with flair. While some friendly rivalry exists, the guild strongly discourages “top-dogging”—trying to dominate others through status. The true goal is for the experienced to uplift the less experienced.

Mentorship is built into the system. Adventurers can request formal training or sponsor newer members through their early quests.

Public Agenda

The mission of Guiding Star is to support the underprivileged, mentor the upcoming generation of adventurers, and offer a reliable, non-governmental organization for aid, defense, and exploration. It provides defense, problem-solving, and quest fulfillment throughout Raygon and beyond, even though it is not a direct component of any kingdom's armed forces. Instead, it works in tandem with local authorities and laws.

History

Lando, an Elf cleric from one of Kingdom of Harmony fabled adventure groups, formed Guiding Star. Lando and his friends were placed under restrictions as the kingdom changed into a more structured and political system. They missed the straightforward satisfaction of personally assisting people.

After a disastrous subterranean mission in which they saved a party of young, unprepared adventurers from a lethal minotaur attack, they resumed their adventurous activities. The young people clarified that they had accepted the position on their own, ill-prepared and untrained. Inspired by the encounter, Lando and his supporters came back to Harmony with a new idea: a guild where the brave might be led by the wise.

The first Guiding Star guildhall was created from that spark. It is now a flourishing network throughout Raygon, a representation of adventure, hope, and a common goal.
