Cinderlock Warden

There have always been monster hunters secret orders, specialized adventurers, and guild task forces dedicated to eliminating the most dangerous threats lurking in the night. Many adventuring guilds handle such problems, but few leave a lasting impact like the Cinderlock Wardens.

This newly established organization, founded by Saras Victoria, has been making remarkable strides in confronting what they call "creatures of the night vampires, undead, cursed entities, and all things that defy the natural flow of life or the will of the gods.

Unlike the shadowy or secretive groups that once dominated this field, the Cinderlock Wardens are bold, public, and proud. Their name is becoming widely known, and their reputation is growing fast. Whether it’s a haunted clock tower, a corrupted witch, or even a creature from beyond the fabric of reality, the Cinderlock Wardens take the call.

They face the curses others won’t.
They hunt the nightmares others fear.
And they always leave a trail of ash and release in their wake.

Structure

Initiate

Initiates are those who seek to become full-fledged Wardens volunteers, avengers, survivors, or protectors of the normal world. Their journey is long and brutal, forged through relentless training.

Standard Training: Initiates undergo rigorous instruction in combat, gear handling, monster knowledge, and survival tactics. This stage takes an average of10 years.

High Magical Aptitude Path: If an Initiate shows potential in understanding or manipulating magic, their training becomes even more intense. They are taught to both defend against and unravel hostile magics. This specialized path extends training to 15+ years.

Field Missions: Even before full graduation, Initiates may be sent on lower-risk assignments after their fifth year to gain real field experience.

Warden

Upon completion of their training, Initiates become Wardens trained hunters who now take on full missions. Most operate in teams of two or more, based on mission difficulty and threat level.

While all Wardens are versatile, some pursue specialized roles after graduation:

Gear Warden

Experts in weapons, traps, cursed mechanisms, and magical machines. Gear Wardens are trained to disassemble, repair, and redesign cursed constructs or malfunctioning relics. When haunted gears or possessed machines need purging, they’re the first called.

Wrench Warden

Scholars of magic and cursebreaking. Wrench Wardens undergo an additional 15 years of training beyond the standard curriculum. They can if they want to specialize in dispel magic, curse removal, and high-risk arcane threats, particularly when traditional means fail.

Alu'Warden

The Alu'Warden is the official in charge of all Warden operations in their assigned region. They oversee deployments, training schedules, and high-priority missions. While they rarely go on standard assignments, they serve as diplomatic liaisons to cities and other organizations. Alu'Wardens often have advisors and secretaries assisting in regional management.

Boss Warden (or Madam Warden)



The original title held by Saras Victoria, founder of the Cinderlock Wardens. Near the end of her tenure, she transformed the leadership into a council of eight:

The Suit Wardens



A high council structured after a deck of cards, consisting of eight elite Wardens, each representing one of the four suits (Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, Clubs), with two Wardens per suit.

Face up: The public leader. Handles diplomacy, negotiations with kings, queens, and emperors, and represents the Order at major events.

Face down: The logistics and training coordinator. Oversees doctrine, ensures techniques are distributed throughout the continent, and put on the best act of be a butler for the Face up role.

Each Suit Pair manages one region of the continent, balancing leadership and duty between them—one visible to the world, the other operating behind the scenes to keep the organization sharp, unified, and ever-ready.

Public Agenda

To the public, the Cinderlock Wardens are often seen as little more than monster hunters, curse-breakers, or perhaps an unusually strict branch of an adventuring guild. But those who have truly worked with them or desperately needed their help know the truth: the Wardens face the unnatural, the cursed, and the horrific. They deal with entities that should not exist vampires, ghosts, warped beings from the Metaverse, and things far worse.

Their reputation is well-earned. While effective, the Wardens are known to be eccentric, intense, and far more aggressive than your typical adventuring party. They are feared, respected, and by some quietly avoided. But when darkness falls, and no other blade dares to answer, it is the Cinderlock Wardens who stand between the world and its nightmares.

Assets

Cinderlock Wardens maintain a wide array of assets, beginning with one of their most vital resources: the Archive Library. This expansive repository holds detailed knowledge on curses, spells, monster physiology, fighting techniques, rare materials, and anything else a Warden might need to destroy the unnatural, break curses, and protect the innocent.

In addition to knowledge, the Wardens possess a vast arsenal of specialized equipment tailored to slay specific creatures. For example, in the case of vampire hunting, they have developed three infamous weapons: Dawnreaver, Roasted Battle Axe , and Sanguine Thresher . All three are forged from Mithril, a rare enchanted alloy, and each offers unique effects—ranging from holy and fire damage to garlic infusion and Conjure spikes and this is only a glimpse of what’s available.

Beyond their own forges, the Wardens have established key partnerships with noble houses, religious orders, and crafting guilds. These alliances grant them access to exclusive resources, custom gear, and ancient relics vital to their mission. From armor designed to resist spectral corruption to enchanted tools capable of breaching cursed domains, Cinderlock Wardens are always prepared for what lurks in the dark.

Cinderlock Wardens Headquarters

The Cinderlock Wardens maintain several bases throughout the continent some hidden, others public, and often spread across multiple chambers or fortified compounds.

However, their central headquarters and birthplace lie within the Kingdom of Aerohallow, in the city of Dillomoor.

There, nestled at the city's edge, stands a sprawling manor-like stronghold. Equal parts fortress and sanctuary, this grand estate serves as the heart of the organization. It is where the Wardens were founded, and where their legacy continues to grow.

All who enter its halls know one truth:

This is where the hunt began and where it will endure.
