The Maiden's Champion
For an age the world holds its breath, and now a Chosen Son shall bloom
Bearing sorrow's mark, he shall stand against the encroaching gloom.
Heritage woven deep within the river's edge, a Mirror of the First,
He rises as Her Herald, when Her Long Vigil nears it close.
The Blade shall Choose and blaze within,
guilding the way through the shadowed land.
Through bitter cold his spirit earn its name,
Before the Maiden's gaze, rekindling a sacred flame.
This prophecy was given to Auralon Rylin IV via a dream during the Festival of the Blue Moon in the year 10094.
Summary
The coming birth of an Elven champion was foretold to the current Steward of Seasons, one who would serve as a herald for the return of the Maiden and a guide for the Elves against the rising storm.
Heritage woven deep within the river's edge: House Rylin originally got its name from the Elven phrase Rhys Lin Dor, which translates to Elves of the River Water. They established the ancient Rylin Estate, Kaer Dour on the edge of the Maiden's Flow River.
The Blade Shall Choose and Blaze Within: The ancestral sword of House Rylin, Dawn, has long chosen whether or not an heir will wield it, or whether it will remain dormant for another generation. At this point, Auralon's great-grandfather was the last to wield the blade.
There were enough clues to suggest that Auralon believed the prophecy foretold the coming of his heir, who was born seven years later. However, Auradir Rylin II was killed at the age of 25 during an Orcish ambush, making Auralon reconsider which member of the House of Rylin the prophecy refers to, or will refer to.
