Mauri Varan En Lon Tar Stor (The Maiden protects her children from the storm).
The Fallen's Storm was built by his mastery over the Air and infused with his desire to destroy creation. The anti-creation energy quickly tore apart those who were lucky. Others were corrupted and distorted beyond recognition. Eons ago, the Maiden was able to use her mastery over the Water and her power over destiny to hold back the storm, but this prevented her from aiding her brothers, allowing the Fallen to survive the conflict.
As the Alliance of Elves, Dwarves, and Men seeks to combat the Fallen's return, their best minds put their minds together on how to optimize the defense in ways that were not possible 11,000 years ago.
Utility
The MaVarlon allows the Maiden's power to flow through the Alliance forces, granting them temporary protection in the heart of the Storm. This allows the Maiden, this time, to be free to confront the Fallen alongside her siblings, helping to prevent history from repeating itself.
The MaVarlon is designed as a complex pendant (basically a neck guard) that allows the Maiden's power to resonate with the protective wards worn by the members of the Alliance.
Manufacturing
Elvin Steel is a costly material to develop. Any other metal would not be able to conduct the Maiden's power as needed; it would either disintegrate or melt.
Platinum: Each sigil (a blade with the protective ward) is made out of platinum, which can channel celestial energy more effectively than other metals.
