Far Elven

Trapped on the Eastern Continent by the Fallen's Storm, these Elves sought to adapt to their new environment while still keeping to their core values.

Naming Traditions

Feminine names

They have kept the Maiden's ideals of beauty, and thus continued to name young she-elves after objects or concepts that are deemed beautiful to them.

Masculine names

The influence of the Guardian during the Great Storm had a significant impact on the Far Elves. Thus, they have adopted naming schemes that honor his ideals of courage, time, order, or stability.

Family names

Similar to their counterparts, the Elemental Elves and the Plains Elves, the family names of the Far Elves are based on natural phenomena that hold significance for them.

Balance and Harmony

Living on the edge of the eastern Storm Lands and next to the exploitation of the Tatshiaan Empire, has reinforced the idea of balance and harmony for the Far Elves, who seek to hold the line against the deterioration of the Eastern Continents' balance.

Isolationist

The Far Elves have been forced to adopt a "them vs. us" mentality over 10 millennia on the Eastern Continent, particularly with neighbors who have constantly sought to bring them under their rule. This has made them far more isolated than the other Elven cultures.

Adaptation and Resilience

Though the reasons for it are different, much like the Elemental Elves, the Far Elves have been forced to confront many changes while seeking to hold to their core beliefs. Despite the secular push from their neighbors, the Far Elves have sought to stay true to their mother, the Maiden.

Reverence for the Maiden

Like other Elven cultures, the Far Elves seek to hold to the ideals of the Maiden, despite her continued absence. The Far Elves take this further, suggesting that if they can stay true, then the Maiden will rescue and reward them when she returns.
