Hard and soft limits.

Lets discuss hard and soft limits. I'll start by laying some general guidelines I want to run by. My only real limit personally, is that I am not going to be narrating, or idealing sitting by while others narrate sexual content. This is a game, and while we can acknoledge that sex exists in a realistic world, and so would be here, if it comes to this in the story we are going to fade to black.
  This would be a soft limit, where casual discussion, or veiled comments towards the subject are acceptable. To contrast that, I am putting a hard limit on Sexual Assault. We are here to escape realitly a bit, and bringing that kind of evil into this story world we want to enjoy together, is simply not ok.
  I am going to pass around some note cards, please if you have anything that qualifies as a either a soft limit or a Hard limit, list them out there. We are doing this anonomysly to ensure that everyone feels comfortable sharing the truth regardless.

Welcome to Eldridth

First thank you all for coming, I am really excited to introduce you to this world, and open it up for you all to explore and discover. While there is allot of the world that is defined, it is still also a large world with much left to be "uncovered", which allows us to build this world deeper together.
  The Histories of Aygess are available to view, and you are going to be getting a digital hand out summerizing all of this, but let me give you a brief history of recent important events.
  Originally the Divine Gaia used Eldridth to create the Treants, and form the Gnomes. It was her magic that allowed other races to migrate to Eldridth, and her creations to leave.
  The original Highest Celestial Creatures were called Celests, and when the universe was made imperfect by the arrival of the abysal shard, abandoned this creation for the next. The corrupted Celests that remained began their rule, which was a dark time for the universe.
  During this dark time, the Fire Primordial Azar take possession of Eldridth, and Tieflings, Drow and Orcs enforced his rule upon the other races, enslaving them, and turning them into sacrifices.
  When the Divine overthrew the Celests, and Pentharion ruled the upper planes, he and Agethis began a war against the Primordials which had taken the Material Planes.
  Eventually the People of the Eldridth managed to rebel against their overlords, and the war that ensued caused the world to break, and introduced the Goliaths to the world, when he interceeded in a fight against Azar that Gaia, Phastus, and Vashnar were fighting.
  For a time the Divine dwelled among the mortals of Eldridth, and there was peace. But eventually the departed to leave the Material Plane to develop without direct influence from the Divine powers.
  Eldridth did not remain a utopia in their absence, and after the explosion of Ionia, a magical city, predjudice against magic began to spread around the world. Some area's actually outlawing it outright, especially fire magic.
  Around 350 years ago the Dwarves were driven out of their subterrainian empire, and into the surface by creatures called Reavers. The came to the world as Refugees, and have since adapted into the surface world.
  About 7 years ago, a big development has rocked the world, but has actually gone by not nearly as violently as would be expected. A new set of refuges arrived, Tribes of Orcs. It is not known how they arrived, they only settled small settlements around the continent, and have been seeking peaceful relations with the nations they settle in.
  Most recently, the Orcs who settled along the Springoa Mountains were granted offical regency over their settlement and the surrounding lands, provided the road between the Queendom of Thena and the Oryn Empire remains open for travel.
  All of your characters will have recently joined the Adventurers Guild, and been given a Mentor. I have three prepared, they do not need to match your class by any means, they are there to bring you into the culture of the Adventurers Guild.
  Before we get into the Adventurers Guild, I wanted to give the party here the opportunity to give an original Name to the Adventurers Guild. The only History we have on it, is that it was founded by the Hero Savras, who blessed by Gaia still lives to this day, leading the Guild. The Goal of the Adventurers guild is to be prepared to defend the world against greater threats, and ensure that those capable of doing so are well both experienced and well prepared, and also to make the world better as they can.
 

Activity

  Next lets discuss and finalize our characters. I am really excited to hear all of your idea's and get this finialized into the world of eldirdth. I do have some home brew changes, we will get into rules final, but if anything is going to effect your character directly, I'll do my best to remember and bring it up, otherwise, we can discuss the changes and which the original rule set or the homebrew we want to go with.   Lets let a Dice roll determine who goes first.
