Goblins & Hobgoblins

Goblins are small, black hearted, selfish humanoids, that lair either in cave like environments, or amongst Hobgoblins and Bugbears. They have dark orange or red-orange skin, and hair ranging from dark red-brown to dark grey. Yellow or dark brown eyes peer out beneath their brows. They have wide mouths that feature many sharp and pointed teeth. The standard goblin is lazy and given the opportunity would spend the day lounging about rather them put any effort in. They usually end up enslaved to a tribe of Hobgoblins. They tend not to put up much of a fight, rarely resisting the first group of Hobgoblins to come their way, fearful of being considered an enemy to that tribe.
Hobgoblins look much the same, but are medium in size instead. They are not nearly as lazy as their distant cousins, and often have a keen sense of tactics and do not shy from a day of work. They honor physical strength, and military prowess and most only care for the opportunity to hone and demonstrate their skill. Goblins and Hobgoblins believe that in death, they join with their God Maglubiyet.
Goblins do not enjoy being out in sunlight, and will often dig into the ground when forced away from caves and mines, where as Hobgoblins have less concern for the daylight, but do prefer the night. They will build complex fortifications, and tend to be very territorial. They tend to form around a single Hobgoblin Warlord, who directs several Hobgoblin Captains.
Hobgoblins are not mindless monsters, they can be reasoned with, though tempers are very likely to flair for those with a less than diplomatic approach. Goblins live in fear of Hobgoblins, and while they will try and get away with slacking off, few would over come their fear of punishment to try and escape. This does not mean if the Goblins see an enemy they fear more, they very are likely to flee or surrender, especially if they believe the Hobgoblins in charge are likely to fall to the killer.
Some Goblins are given training and turned into Goblin bosses, while others laziness get the better of them, and they are little better than minions. Some Hobgoblins are not well coordinated, or not as interested in combat. These Hobgoblins tend to take up support roles in the Goblin fortifications, though are often considered below that of a Goblin capable of defending itself. Other Hobgoblins take up specific combat roles even besides the Captain's who lead a legion of soldiers. There are Sentinels who specialize in the defense of the Fortifications, and Soldiers who will often conduct raids, as well as do battle.
Goblins often keep rats as pets, some obsessively, where as some Hobgoblins keep some wild beasts and harden them for combat. But the Bugbears are not pets. They are intelligent beasts, who see the strength of the Hobgoblin tribe and join in on the fun. They are shaped much like slightly larger Hobgoblins, though covered in a bristly coat of hair, normally brown or yellow. Bugbears tend to be the assigned to watch Goblin groups, and keep them in line, or are sent out as strong raiding parties to bring back supplies.
Most encampments are in mountain ranges. Most know that the West Klendev Mountains are crawling with a multitude of Goblins, though they tend to avoid human settlements, mostly due to not wanting to travel to far south, and fearing the soldiers of the Thena Kingdom.
The only known Hobgoblin settlement is on the northeast side of the. Springoa Mountain Range in the Colreeg Wild, near the Great Crater, but they mostly keep to themselves, and defend their side of that mountain range from any who would want to encroach on that land.
