Trouble in paradise. Forge Union perils Report
General Summary
- The party stood outside of the Outpost discussing to themselves (specifically Dreamys and Taldric) about why its even worth their time to enter into this outpost.
- Taldric insisted it was important to them and had allegedly (or not idk) promised gold in the form of his share of the Ore everyone found inside of the mineshaft to Dreamys if they went to the Quarry in the Forge Union.
- Dreamys misunderstood as going to the Outpost instead somehow and the issue was resolved (I think).
- In the midst of this conversation Jade opened up the doors to the outpost.
- Upon entering the party was met with heavy webbing, dim and flickering candles lit on the walls around , a musty metallic scent of old blood and rusted iron.
- The party could see the reception desk in the middle of the grand foyeur with a guest logbook and a bunch of empty armors and weapons scattered about, a struggle had ensued here at one point.
- Creating a sense of unease, the party could occasionally hear the faint echo of distant screams and see suspicious shadows just out of the corner of their eyes.
- 5 doors were in this Foyeur and after disovering a torn map of the outpost the party discovered that the 5 rooms were a: Barracks, Armory, Smithy and Forge, Library, and a Dining Hall/Kitchen area.
- Daggoss also found an old key in the desk, the logbook that seemed to have been endless in pages due to magic, and a note detailing strange disappearances and a rising unease amongst the staff before the entries stop.
- After clearing out the library in a brief encounter with two phase spiders, one of which phased out and remained hidden. The party found: A manual on Dwarven forging techniques, a scroll of Protection From Evil and Good, a tome on the history of the Tabaxi wars (granting advantage on history checks made for that time period), a Dwarven spellbook with some juicy spells, a potion of heroism, and 50 gold pieces.
- The party doubled back into the reception area and headed to the armory and obtained: A +1 longsword lying under a pile of old shields, a set of +1 studded leather armor still hanging on a web-covered rack, ahand crossbow with 10 bolts coated in drow poison (DC 13 Constitution saving throw, taking 24 (7d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one), and a Ring of Protection (grants +1 to AC and saving throws while worn).
- After a long fought battle in the armory, the party decided to short rest, however Dreamys had other plans and went into the adjacent bunk room and was jumped by two giant spiders.
- In the short rest now taking place in the bunking area Daggoss found some toys left over from the previous inhabitants and gave them to Tony.
- The session ended with the party going through the cathedral and up the stairs to the roof to get to the beacon tower.
- Once in the beacon tower it was noted that the windows were cracked and broken, and light from the ebacon was shining down and flickering with low energy.
- The session ended with 4 phase spiders jaunting into reality.
