The Celestial Ward Bekons Report
General Summary
- The party started by taking in the view around them atop Dragon Claw Drop. The world seemingly thrown asunder by Uthryn Baelor and his conscripts.
- After descending the Drop, the party noticed a gathering of the townsfolk at the Old Mill and some dissarray.
- Coming over they see a severely burnt Drow that Dreamys recognizes as one of her old Vanguard members.
- He seems too disoriented to clearly hear anything as Dreamys tries to conscript him into the party one way or another.
- He chooses to serve in death as living wouldn't be much better at this point.
- Seraphina is recognized amongst the crowd of people as she walks forward to discuss with the party the next steps.
- Seemingly on a time limit due to the vulnerability of the townsfolk of the Haven, the party rushes to get to the Spire. Starting their journey to the Celestial Ward.
- Tony, in a fit of anger and despair stabs at the now raised Drow zombie of Dreamys' control.
- Landing a blow that does little damage as his dagger is stripped from him.
- In sorrow Tony bows his head, the party rallying around him to try and comfort him through hilarious trauma sharing.
- Shortly enough the party arrives in the Celestial Ward, seemingly shifting into another plane of reality as the sun is now hanging overhead and shining down as hot as ever.
- Rock formations can now be seen creating a canyon of sorts leading in to the Ward.
- The party enters the canyon and is soon met by Vedalken spirits that attack them and try to ward them off.
- The party then encounters some Komodo Dragons basking in a patch of sunlight in the canyon. Their scales shimmering with magic.
- The spire can be seen just outside the mouth of this opening in the canyon as one step into the sunlight sets off the defense system of the Aetherium Spire.
- Sending down a blast of magical energy, the spire shoots down on Taldric and Gunter.
- The open air is not safe in this domain.
- The lizards get defensive and combat should ensue, however Daggoss steps into the light being blasted himself.
- Daggoss moves into position and launches a fireball at the lizards, dealing massive damage and scaring off all but one lizard.
- The lizard is swiftly vanquished as the party tries to resolve what happened with the blasts and the lizards.
- Daggoss informs everyone that the blasts were from the Spire and is confused as to why he himself was shot at.
- The party continues forward into an area that seems perfect for a short rest.
- Almost too perfect as Daggoss being as proficient as he is with Arcana. Snuffed out the traps that were going to activate in this area saving the party from certain disaster.
- The party take their short rest and soon after resume their journey further into the spire.
- After some time the party clears the canyon they were in and are immediately met with gates leading into what is known as the Aetherium Bastion.
- Of which is now in ruins.
- After some walking down the path the party reaches the center of the Bastion and are met with 4 branching pathways and a middle door that seems locked.
- These 4 branching pathways are all flanked by 4 statues of Vedalken Wizards. Each with their own spellbook and magical symbols showcasing the different schools of magic.
- Necromancy, Enchantment, Abjuration, and Conjuration magic.
- The party went down the Enchantment path and began to distrust one another as the trials set through these halls were designed to test ones mental fortitude against manipulation.
- With the party at each others throats they arrive at the end of a hall of books and mirrors to a single pedastal in the middle of the now expanded library with a tome on it.
- Gunter grabs the tome as he hears a whisper in his mind to protect it at all costs.
- Attempts were made to destroy the book as each person clambered to try and solve this issue. (metagamers, lol xd)
- The session ended with the book in Daggoss' hands as he looked back at the party with a determination in his eyes.
