Celestial Ward

Intro to the Celestial Ward   The Celestial Ward is a mysterious and treacherous plane just East of Lumen's Rest. Those who enter it are unknowingly transported to another dimension where the sun never sets, perpetually hanging at high noon. From the outside, the Ward appears normal, but within it lies an unsetting sun baking the fragile landscape beneath it causing it to crack beneath the steps of anyone or anything travelling through its perilous territory.    Purpose   Magically adept individuals from Lumen's Rest are sent here as a rite of passage. They must navigate the dangers of the Ward to reach the Vedalken's Aetherium Spire, where they undergo a transformation to become something greater. This journey is not just a test of magical prowess but also of endurance and willpower.   The Onslaught    As the party progresses through the Ward, the Aetherium Spire begins to launch magical energy blasts at anyone attempting to reach the Spire Pad. These blasts are powerful and relentless, forcing the party to use the natural cover provided by the rocky formations strategically.   Hostile Spirits   The Ward is haunted by spirits, ghosts, poltergeists, and other malevolent entities. These spectral beings are hostile and add to the danger of the area. They may appear suddenly, attacking the party or trying to lead them astray.   Key Encounters   Sheng-Ha, the Tabaxi Cleric: Sheng-Ha, a devout follower of Chronarix, is encountered in the Ward. Her presence is a beacon of hope and guidance. She offers insight into navigating the Ward and the significance of the Spire.   Jack, the Mad Adventurer: A former party member from Lumen's Rest, Jack, is found wandering the Ward. The endless daylight and harsh conditions have driven him mad. His behavior is erratic, and he may be both a hindrance and a help.
