Thruum
Thruum is the eastern jewel of the Jadeheart Kingdom. A thunderous, bustling port city where the scent of salt and spice clings to every stone. Its harbors are said to "drink the sunrise", as the first light of Elaxios strikes the sails of hundreds of ships arriving from Western Largus or northern Honeybrook Isle.
Thruum is alive with motion: arms hauling crates, sails snapping in sea breeze, and polyglot voices echoing through its coastal markets. It is Jadeheart’s eastern mouthpiece, and it speaks with gold, steel, and authority.

Government
The city is overseen by the Lord Harbormaster, a hereditary title within the Ironquay Clan. The current Harbormaster, Durrek Ironquay, is a masterful negotiator and shrewd statesman known for balancing royal interests with foreign demands, and rarely giving ground for free.
Defences
Thruum is heavily defended. Its sea walls are layered and lined with enchanted stone, and signal towers along the coast relay messages deep into Jadeheart’s interior. The Stormreach Fleet, a small but elite naval force, is stationed here, trained for repelling both pirate raiders and hostile flotillas.
A unique feature is the Cliffbreaker Array, a series of massive retractable iron spikes hidden within the breakwater, designed to skewer incoming vessels during sieges.

Industry & Trade
Thruum is the largest port city on Iroth’s eastern coast, and handles goods from far and wide: spice caravans from Honeybrook, lumber and ore from Wescovia, silks and enchanted goods from Sulkara, and rare imports from beyond the Southern Crescent.
Major exports include dwarven masonry and tools, finished weaponry and armor, preserved goods and salted meats, and stone and coral-carved art and architectural elements.
Foreign consulates and merchant guilds maintain permanent offices in the city, creating a climate of cautious diplomacy and active espionage.

Districts
The Saltreach
The sprawling, bustling portside district, with massive docks built for both dwarven bulk haulers and nimble foreign traders. Stone cranes, iron mooring arms, and coral-reinforced piers give the Saltreach a brutal elegance.Highwharf
The cliffside administrative and diplomatic quarter, overlooking the sea. Home to customs houses, merchant embassies, and the Thruum Mariner's Hall, where shipping codes and trade pacts are recorded in etched bronze.Old Thruum
The original dwarven quarter, nestled in a rocky basin above the port. Solid brick dwellings, steepled shrines to Vergadain and Moradin, and quiet, cobbled lanes contrast with the city’s otherwise frantic energy.Guilds and Factions
Architecture
Thruum’s architecture favors broad foundations and rising terraces, adapted to the coastal slope. Buildings feature flat, white-plastered walls with stonework reinforcements, and many homes have rooftop gardens or sea-facing balconies.
