Hemtrim
Where most dwarven cities in the Jadeheart Kingdom are known for their stonework, soldiery, or trade, Hemtrim is a city built for the mind. Revered as the intellectual heart of the kingdom, Hemtrim is home to sages, artificers, scholars, and historians. Its streets are quiet and orderly, its buildings adorned with etched stone runes and gleaming brass observatories, and its atmosphere imbued with contemplative purpose. Hemtrim is where the Kingdom’s engineers are trained, new inventions are tested, and ancient dwarven lore is deciphered and preserved.
Government
Hemtrim is largely self-governing, run by the Council of Quills - a meritocratic body of scholars elected every ten years by vote from guild leaders, master sages, and temple elders. The current head of the Council is Archivist Belgran Torchscript, an elderly dwarf with an unmatched memory and a reputation for disarming even royal inspectors with wit and riddles.
Industry & Trade
Hemtrim trades in knowledge, maps, books, arcane components, and experimental technologies. It also serves as a testbed for many of the Kingdom’s civic improvements, such as new forms of aqueducts, signal runes, and civic lighting.
