Dundorth

Dundorth is the crossroads of the Jadeheart Kingdom, a bustling, salt-kissed city where caravans meet cargo ships, and dwarven merchants argue over casks of spices beside gnarled dockworkers unloading ironwood crates. Built where the kingdom’s land splits east and west, Dundorth has become the natural fulcrum of all Jadeheart trade, diplomacy, and naval movement.
Dundorth is arguably the most important city in terms of national cohesion, especially in times of war or crisis. It is also one of the few Jadeheart cities with a robust shipbuilding operation and a dedicated harbor patrol fleet.

Government

Dundorth is led by a Trade-Marshal, a unique position in the Jadeheart hierarchy that answers to the High King directly, bypassing most regional lords. The current Trade-Marshal is Dagna Bronzeleaf, a no-nonsense dwarf with a mind for logistics and a spine of cold steel. They run the city with precision and little patience for corruption or bureaucratic delay.
They are aided by a Dock Council, made up of guild representatives and clan leaders, who offer input on economic policy and trade tariffs.

Defences

Dundorth maintains a robust naval patrol force, trained to secure the Bay and ensure pirate activity is swiftly crushed. It has a sizeable garrison capable of defending both land and sea approaches. The Ironharbor Bastion, a sea-facing fortification built into the coastal rock, is rumored to house ballistae capable of sinking ships with a single bolt.

Industry & Trade

Dundorth is a major distribution hub for foodstuffs, timber, ore, and enchanted goods. Warehouses line the hills, and couriers depart hourly in all directions. Imports from Ironhold, Imenia, and even Sulkara flow through its ports.
Key exports include refined dwarven steel, spiced stonebark mead, sea-forged jewelry and coralworked trinkets.

Districts

The Brinefront

Bustling harbor and docking platforms where sailors, privateers, dockhands and many others congregate.

Old Hammerward

Home to ancestral halls and traditional dwarven homes of stone and timber, the Old Hammerward was one of the first districts of the original city.

Eastmarch Gate

The district housing caravans, inns, and the start of the eastern road.

Westreach Hold

Where goods and merchants traveling toward the western cities are organized and taxed.

Guilds and Factions

The Chainlink Guild

Oversees shipping manifests, transport logistics, and port taxation. They operate with semi-autonomy from the crown.

The Goldthimble Coster

A merchant’s alliance with far-reaching caravans and ties to Imenian trade houses.

The Wharfhands’ Union

Surprisingly powerful; controls much of the Brinefront labor force and can halt port activity with a single vote.

The Order of the Ironwake

A loose band of sea-bound dwarves who revere the sea as a spiritual force and offer blessings before major naval voyages.
