Anancis and Nefas
Shrouded in frost and silence, the sister continents of Anancis and Nefas are among the least understood regions in the known world. They lie far to just west of the icy center of the map, bound in permafrost and veiled in storms, where the sun hangs low and the wind carries voices no one remembers.
Anancis, the larger of the two, is a brooding land of jagged peaks, ancient forests, and long-forgotten ruins carved into the mountainsides. Though few settlements remain, signs of a once-great civilization litter the landscape; abandoned fortresses, shattered temples, and strange stone circles that hum in moonlight. Many believe Anancis was the cradle of some lost magical art, or perhaps even a divine battleground in a war before history.
Nefas, its frozen sister to the north, is stranger still. A fractured archipelago of snow-covered isles and cruel mountain ridges, it seems to repel explorers by design. No one lives there permanently - at least, not anymore - and the few who return speak of impossible geometry, vanishing landmarks, and frozen statues that appear to move when unobserved.
Together, Anancis and Nefas stir the imagination of scholars, mystics, and fools. Some seek lost knowledge. Some seek power. Most simply vanish.
