Absiterra

A continent born of colossal will and ancient sibling rivalry, its very form a testament to the primal power that shaped it. Legend whispers that long ago, two brother dragons, one verdant as the deepest forest, the other gleaming like the purest gold, poured their essence into the world, forming this vast territory. But their harmony shattered, and their discord etched itself upon the very earth, dividing Absiterra into realms that forever echo their unique spirits. To stand upon Absiterra is to feel the weight of their ancient saga.

The continent itself is defined by the spines of the earth:
To the West lies Ludi, a land enshrouded in the enduring legacy of the Green Dragon. Here, the Great Western Mountains rise like a protective, brooding wall, their peaks often cloaked in the mists and shadows that were once his solace. This is a realm of dense, ancient forests clinging to rugged slopes, where the air seems to hold a profound stillness, a deep quiet broken only by the rustle of unseen things. The land here feels entrenched, introspective, guarded; a reflection of the great beast who retreated here to nurse his silent wounds. Along its southwestern curve, the Bay of Tranquility offers a deceptive calm, a shimmering mirror reflecting the verdant, shadowed slopes, hinting at hidden depths beneath its placid surface.

Eastward stretches Jindi, a land touched by the radiant spirit of the Gold Dragon. Here, the mountains still rise majestically, but they are often sun-kissed, their slopes graced by more open woodlands and winding rivers that speak of a vibrant, flowing life. This is where the Gold Dragon is said to have secluded himself, likely within the heart of an ancient mountain monastery; a place of wisdom, discipline, and perhaps a sorrowful solitude. Jindi feels more open, more directly illuminated, its landscapes vast and inviting, yet always with that undertone of ancient, profound contemplation.

Between them, a testament to their shared, powerful creation, lies the dramatic cut in the northern coast, known simply as the Mouth of the Dragon. A monumental fissure in the earth, perhaps the very point where their combined power first erupted, or where their great falling out tore the land asunder.

Far to the East, distinct yet tied to Absiterra's mythos, float two enigmatic islands. Shandi is the first, a smaller, rugged landmass, its windswept hills offering little comfort but perhaps holding their own quiet, ancient stories. Duzi is a truly wondrous sight. Shaped like a colossal, broken ring, its form suggests an explosive origin. At its heart lies the Great Duzi Lake, a vast, freshwater expanse encircled by towering, ancient rock. Some say Duzi is a fragment of the dragons' first, unbridled creation, a place where their elemental power left an enduring, sculpted scar. It is a place of profound isolation and stark beauty, a testament to the sheer, world-shaping force that birthed Absiterra itself.

From the mist-shrouded peaks of Ludi to the sun-drenched forests of Jindi, and across the deep, mysterious waters to the rings of Duzi, Absiterra is a continent alive with the memory of its founders. It is a land where ancient sorrow and enduring majesty are carved into every stone, and the whisper of two dragon brothers echoes through the ages.
