Dungeons
Introduction
Dungeons existed even before the coming of the players. They worked as places with a high concentration of ether that gathered and formed into a core. This core would then attract demons and beasts alike due to its mutative and empowering properties. Dungeon cores do not need to exist in an enclosed area (cave, basement, pocket dimension, etc...), though it is much preferable as the dungeon also works as a base. Dungeon cores cannot be touched, though they can be destroyed through magic. They are ethereal, intangible, but perceivable. In their early form, dungeon cores take the form of a ball of light. As they grow, they become more and more tangible and can take the form of stones, gems or other precious minerals. Later on, they could even transform into living beings like dragons and phoenixes depending on which type of ether they're made of. When a dungeon core is first formed, the space around it becomes known as a dungeon. The material that forms the very edge of this dungeon becomes known as the dungeon base. These points are the coordinate the core uses to define where it should be. As such, they are made incredibly hard and cannot be moved unless a great power is used. Now, while the dungeons are very much an endemic concept to the denizens of Elatorel, their interactions with the players are very heavily governed by THE SYSTEM. As such, they are categorized under it.Player Interaction
Dungeons offer a lot of resources to players. From exp to loot to dungeon rewards after completing it, dungeons are a place that players will have to spend a lot of time in. So, what is the system governing the interactions between these two? Dungeon Tiers/Levels Depending on the level of monsters in the dungeon, their tier, their number, and the power of their boss, the dungeon is assigned an appropriate ranking. I.E. Dungeon Level 5 (Easy)(Tier 1) would have monsters of around level 5, no evolution, and a boss whose level cannot go past 10 and also isn't evolved. A Dungeon Level 5 (Medium)(Tier 1) could either have a high number of monsters, a boss whose level is above 10 but not above 15, or an evolved boss. Long story short, the tier of the dungeon is decided by the tier of the monster/mobs, its level is also assigned by the mobs, its difficulty can range from a number of factor from the number of monster/miniboss/boss, the level of the boss, or the evolution of the boss. Style Point While within a dungeon, a player is assigned style point depending on how many monsters he killed, how fast he killed them, and the way he killed them. It is a very complex measure that is computed by specific AIs, but it is universally agreed upon that the more you style on them mobs, the higher is your score. This score affects your final reward. Dungeon Player Ranking Each dungeon has a player ranking. From Fastest Dungeon Clear to First Dungeon Clear to Highest Style Points, almost every aspect of the dungeon crawling experience has a ranking. This encourage competition between guilds and players and allows them to find their own style of dungeon crawling. Since no one can be the best at everything, you pick one thing and you become famous for it. Final Reward Depending on the difficulty, the level, and the tier of the dungeon, the final reward varies a lot. There are also other factors that play into it, like Style Points and Dungeon Player ranking. The final rewards could be anything: A title, gold, an item, experience, etc...Remove these ads.
