Threads of Fate
5th Edition
You manifest the shimmering cords that bind all living beings to destiny, glimpsing one possible outcome and subtly weaving it to your will. Up to three creatures of your choice that you can see within range must make Charisma saving throws. For the duration, whenever a creature that fails this saving throw makes an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you may use your reaction to tug upon their fate. When you do so, you impose either a boon or a bane, which must be decided before the roll is made. When you grant a creature a boon, the target rolls a d4 and adds the result to the triggering roll. When you inflict a bane, the target rolls a d4 and subtracts the result from the triggering roll.
A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a higher level spell slot, increase the size category of die rolled by 1 size for every two slot levels above its base level. The die size categories in order are d4, d6, d8, d10, and a maximum of a d12.
This is a rare option
This option requires special permission to take. In the case of spells, psionic powers, and similar options, this option must be found in the world and cannot be taken upon level-up.
