Stolen Breath

3.5th Edition
With a clenched fist, you make a tugging motion toward your target. A transparent, barely perceptible hand appears to plunge into your target's mouth.   With this spell, you steal all the air from the subject's lungs, causing it to suffer a momentary respiratory crisis. It can take shallow breaths and act normally but is considered sickened for 1 minute. At any time during this minute, the subject can take a full-round action to get its wind back, ending the condition.   Focus: A stoppered glass vial.

5th Edition
You conjure a spectral hang that yanks the breath from a creature's lungs. Choose one creature within range that can breathe air. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or start to suffer from a momentary respiratory crisis. While affected, the target has disadvantage on attack rols and ability checks. The target can take a full action to gasp for air, ending the spell on itself.   This spell has no effect on creatures that do not breathe or that do not require air.   At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a higher level spell slot, you may target one additional creature for each slot level above its base level.
