Forgemind's Touch
5th Edition
Tracing your hand across the grain of metal, you awaken the memory left in its lattice. Choose one manufactured metal object that you touch for the duration. You learn one significant fact about its creation, history, or most recent use, drawn from among your choice of the following:
- The identity or race of the creature who forged or last significantly repaired it. You always learn the most recent fact, so if it has been significantly repaired, you cannot learn its creator from this spell.
- The approximate age of the object, to the nearest century. If it is less than 1 century old, you instead learn it to the nearest decade.
- The location of the object's forging or last significant repair. You always learn the most recent fact, so if it has been significantly repaired, you cannot learn the location of its forging from this spell.
- The most recent moment within the last century it was used for its intended purpose.
- Whether the metal has been magically altered, enchanted, or corrupted.
- A faint echo of the strongest emotion or intent impressed upon it during its creation or final use.
This is a rare option
