Aftalkas, the Star Swallower

Description

Aftalkas is a massive gold and blue serpent that roams the Astral Sea, returning to the Prime only to rip stars from the sky and leave dark holes in the sky. He sports a massive good similar to a cobra and his eyes glow bright with the light of numerous stars lost forevermore. His fangs gleam with a deadly toxin that is rumored to be able to slay the Gods themselves.

Personality

Aftalkas is a harsh master and demands utter obedience from his bound warlocks. Making up the Cult of Dark Sands, these warlocks primarily stationed throughout the Kuneirmeru seek to end the wretched light of the stars above, letting night become an all encompassing darkness. While the reason for this desire differs from member to member, Aftalkas himself does so because he finds the light truly offensive.

Patron's Aspect

When you assume the aspect of Aftalkas, you become a serpentine avatar of collapsed starlight, gaining the following benefits for the duration:
  • You emit supernatural darkness to a Radius of 20-feet. You can see through this darkness as though it were bright light.
  • You gain immunity to Cold and Necrotic damage.
  • You can move through the space of any creature larger than you as though it were Difficult Terrain.
  • Your Eldritch Blast ignores Resistance to Cold and Necrotic damage and treats Immunity to Cold or Necrotic damage as Resistance. In addition, when you hit with your Eldritch Blast, you deal additional damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.
  • You can use an Action to swallow all light around you. With a powerful inhale, the world goes dark. Each other creature within 60 feet of you must make a Constitution Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC. Creatures within supernatural darkness have Disadvantage on this Saving Throw. On a failure, a creature takes 8d8 Cold damage and 8d8 Necrotic damage and is Blinded for 1 Minute, or half as much damage and Blinded until the end of your next turn on a success. The area is supernatural darkness for 1 minute. Unlike your aura of darkness, this darkness does not move with you. Once you use this effect, you cannot do so again until you finish a Long Rest.
  • This is a rare option

This option requires special permission to take. In the case of spells, psionic powers, and similar options, this option must be found in the world and cannot be taken upon level-up.
