Childhood
Middle of 5 kids
Helped Around the bakery. Mostly did deliveries.
Discovered he could do some magic at a young age, but didn't want to be a part of it. Little stuff. Sparks with his fingers. Tried to avoid using magic. His sister Robin fell in love with it and was always in trouble for her casting.
Dropped out after 10th grade. Read a lot as a kid.
Career
Joined the Capitol Watch at an early age (17).
Has been injured a few times. Mostly minor stuff.
Spent 11 years as a beat cop.
Would walk neighborhoods to keep an eye on things.
Mostly petty crime, bar fights, etc. Low level police work, keeping the peace. Very few long-term investigations.
Had a reputation for doing the job well, but was getting terrible assignments because of his spellcasting.
Watch Detective Squad (8 years)
Investigates a lot of bigger crimes. Murders, big thefts, organized crime, etc.
First partner was Crusty... Why named Buggy? Crusty was an old veteran who said every good cop needed a nickname. Came up with one for him. Turns out, it’s really only Crusty. He’s quirky.
After 3 years, Crusty retires and he is given a junior partner (Samantha Murphy). Stayed with her for the rest of his time as a detective.
Liaison Between Capitol Watch and APS (upcoming appointment)
Supposed to act as a liaison between the magical task forces and the standard Watch. Chosen for his natural magical skills.

Angua Swires – Ex-wife and baby momma. (32) They got divorced because he was being a shitty dad and husband while working really hard. She was convinced he was cheating with his partner. That was 6 years ago.
