09.04.24 Guild Report - SL -The Wizard's Apprentice
General Summary
Vespera the cleric, Neray the bloodhunter, Mel the Moon druid, Rayne the Drake warden, Rosa the spore druid and Susan the dwarven bard heard the plea from Zander to track down his former apprentice and recover his staff of power.
It seems than she had joined with the shaman Razdakanar, whom had previously plagued the guild by experimenting on the local fauna.
Immediately on landing on the island our adventurers discovered signs of the mushroom men they had previously fought. Mel flew ahead, accompanied by her new companion 'Devar', the winged demon cat and quickly found a clearing in wish these fungi were spawning. Immediately they attacked and Mel had to dodge a thrown spear.
Enflamed by the attack, Neray and Rayne charged ahead. Immediately Rayne recognised that these mushroom men were more powerful than those that he had previously fought. Calling his fight drake into existence he shouted to the party "use what fire you have, they hate fire!" The party attacked and quickly determined that the rubbery mushroom hide was resistant to normal weapons.
Although they fought fiercely, the mushroom men started to prove no match for the prowess our brave party posessed and in quick order a voice was heard above the din of combat; "enough!!! You will not do this again!" Razdakanar appeared with Zander's young apprentice at his side, her face distorted in a grimace of pain as he held the staff of power. Lightnight crackled from the young wizards hands and streaked out to blast through the party, the scent of ozone filled the air, tainted with burnt flesh. At the same time an aura of blades, swords, knives and spears started spinning around the duo. A rumpling sound filled the air and from beneath then ground a hydra-like creature crawled out from the earth and attacked. Reacting quickly, Rosa summoned a sleet storm to counteract the Shamans magic; the effect was immediate as both the shaman and apprentice lost their feet. Neray attacked the Hydra as Mel and devar charged at the prone apprentice; both invisible to normal sight. Vespera called on his diety for aid and every member of the party felt themselves embued with vitality and protection. Susan played her bagpipes and created a cacophoney of sound to blast the hydra in a shattering instrumental.
The hydra raged and attacked both Neray and Rayne recklessly, critically wounding Neray, but unfortunately for the creature it also activated Neray's blood magic. Rosa called on the forces of nature and with Rayne's permisison, polymorphed him into a T-Rex. Now standing toe-to-toe with the Hydra, T-Rex-Rayne visciously attacked, biing deeply into its hide whilst callign on his drakes fire magic to cauterise the wound. Bagpipes blaring again, the air between Razdanakar and Chloe the apprentice exploded in a thunderous blast. Mel snatched up the staff of power with a grimace of pain and handed it quickly off to Zander and scooted away. Enraged at the pain caused to Mel, Devar shape-shifted into his demon form and slashed into Chloe and Razda, critically wounding Chloe. Neray blasted Razda from afar, Vespera called her moonbeam on the Hydra and T-Rex Rayne continued to bite and claw the Hydra cauterising each wound inflicted.
Fearing for his life, Razdanakar screamed in rage, reach out to touch a nearby tree and passed into its trunk, fleeing for his life.
