02.03.24 Guild Report - SL - The Demon Egg

After another failed attempt to regain his magical abilities, Zander requested our adventurers to recover a demon egg, which he can use to revert his failed experiment. To aid our adventurers, Zander gifted them each with a magical item, including a bow, some armor and a ring. Mel, our druid in a robe of stars, received a small collar with a bell that Zander assured her was just what she needed for this adventure. Our adventurers descended into a cave, smelling of Sulpher and Brimstone. After an hour of travelling, they discovered a cavern with a pedistal carved at the center. On top of the pedistal sat a winged cat hissing at the Hellhounds below. It seems the hounds wanted to eat the cat, but the cat had other ideas. Mel rang the bell which got the cats attention and suddenly it dissapeared! Trying to ensure a peaceful outcome, Mel through some food which was gobbled up by one of the hounds; However the rest of them were looking for a brawl. Standard combat was faught, and the hounds were easily despatched! Moving deeper into the cave, our adventurers located the magical egg that Zander was after. The egg was guarded by a fearsome demon. The druid summoned bears but with immunity to bludgeoning and piercing damage they were ineffectual and quickly prone in the tentacles of the demon. Leo used his magical prowess to quickly cross the battlefield and stealthily stepped away with the egg in hand. At the same time the 2 rangers marked their foe and began a barrage of arrows. The scardey cat flew up into the high reaches of the cavern to hide while Mel tried to convince it to assist in the fight, the sassy cat had seen this demon before and was having none of it. Seeing the conjured beasts as ineffectual, Rosa tried Contaigen which the demon was immune to poison and it barely tickled. [06:42] Our brave wizard cast haste on the drake warden, and Rosa used Polymorph to turn him into a mighty T-Rex. With 136hp and an AC of 13, T-Rex Rayne charged in and delivered a mighty bite taking off half of the foes health pool. A critical chomp follow by a critical fail followed by Mel's magical missiles critically wounded the beast before Rosa plunged her sickle into it's skull ending it's time on this plane. The adventurers drained the ink from the octopus demon, returned the vials as promised and will live to fight another day!
