Minjo Taeyun (a.k.a. Tay)
Called Tay by many, Minjo carries the world within him—not as burden, but as play. He slips into roles like others change songs, shifting from king to child to tree with nothing more than breath and intention. His performances unfold without stage or script; he’ll act out a legend beneath a fig tree or embody a forgotten emotion for a passerby, leaving them smiling and unsure why.
Tay’s favorite stories are the ones he invents with others. He’s often seen prompting shy children into grand adventures or inviting elders to improvise myths with surprising endings. Masks and costumes fill his home, each imbued with a history not quite real but fully felt. He once wore a mask for a month just to explore the silence it created.
But there is depth beneath the play. Tay believes pretending is how we practice truth, how we explore what might be too delicate to face head-on. His favorite roles are those that begin in laughter and end in unexpected stillness. “Every character,” he says, “is a doorway. I just leave them open.”
