Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath whose areas of interest included invention, painting, sculpting, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, writing, history, and cartography. He has been variously called the father of palaeontology, ichnology, and architecture, and is widely considered one of the greatest painters of all time. Despite only a handful of his works surviving, they are among the most universally recognized and analyzed, including the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.

Mental characteristics
Sexuality
Leonardo was never known to have had romantic relationships with women and was accused of sodomy in his youth. He had close relationships with male pupils, and his writings hint at idealized male beauty.
