Dhegom (DEH-ghom)

Indo-European Deity

Dhegom

Dhegom is the primordial Earth Mother in the Yamnaya and Proto-Indo-European cosmos. She is the soil that births, the grave that reclaims, and the rhythm that ties womb to tomb. Her name lives on in Gaian echoes—Demeter, Danu, the land itself as mother. She is not gentle but elemental. She gave body to humankind and expects reverence in return.   Her rites were held in the shade of groves, where offerings were buried rather than burned. To anger her was to invite famine. To honor her was to reap abundance. She speaks in quake and blossom alike. No ruler stood without her consent, and no warrior was buried without her welcome.
