Anlei Haan (a.k.a. Allen)

Ameni Khamerera doesn’t perform so much as transform. His presence bends rooms—his voice lilts through emotion like wind through leaves. One day he might embody a trickster with silver eyes, the next, a grieving monarch in silence. The border between character and self is so porous for Ameni, it’s unclear where one ends and the other begins. He believes theater is not for spectacle, but for truth. “All masks,” he says, “are mirrors.” Between performances, he crafts puppets and masks from soft wood and hand-dyed silk, each as expressive as his ever-changing face.
