Adranus (AH-drah-nus)

Mediterranean Deity

Adranus

Adranus is the volcano-god of the Sicagic highlands, where fire meets stone and silence meets eruption. Once worshipped on the slopes of Mount Etna, he embodies the sacred flame of the earth’s heart—not just destruction, but transformation through heat. His breath is sulfur and incense; his voice is tectonic patience. Farmers feared and honored him, knowing he could bless their fields or bury them.   As a fusion of Nuragic and Sicel influences, Adranus ruled over protective spirits and hearth cults. He was invoked during oaths and in times of volcanic unrest. He guards sacred boundaries—between land and underworld, promise and threat. His priests bore ash on their faces and entered dreams with lava-glass in their hands.
