The Battle House - Training for the Fight

At the height of Human civilization, in the heart of Torandria, was a large dome known as the Battle House. It was the premier training station for not only Humans, but also those Dragonites and Elves who sought to learn from the great hand-to-hand combatants of the Human realm.    To be accepted as a student one was required to pass several rigorous physical fitness tests which pushed even the strongest to their limits. The instructors of the Battle House would not accept a subpar pupil. As it was a private organization which was affiliated with the government rather than controlled by it, there was no lowering of standards to fulfill quotas.   The training methods were secret to all outsiders, Human or otherwise, though rumors abounded regarding the mysteries taking place behind those closed doors of the massive combat dome. It is said that Combatants of the First Degree, as new pupils were called, would spend most of their time unconscious, in a virtual world, where they could learn any number of combat systems extremely rapidly. Of course, the physical training would be all the more intense starting at the Second Degree once the initial virtual training was complete.   It was a grand effort by the Battle House to keep their methods and training a secret, so any potential student was going in somewhat blind as to what would be expected of them. In that way it took a special type of person to even seek admittance to the Battle House in the first place.   Modern El'dor knows not this instruction any further, though, as the Battle House fell with Torandria itself at the end of the Torn Wars. There was once talk of opening a second Battle House far from Torandria for those combatants wishing to go beyond the level of mastery allowed in Torandria, but if it exists it is not recorded anywhere for anyone to find.
