Episode 63

Collective Action speak with Evander Skywarden, a senior Angeltaun council member, explaining their presence and asking about Isolde Shadewind and other missing Angelkin. Evander confirms they searched for Isolde after she failed to arrive for work, but found no sign of her. He mentions Isolde’s sister, Zeria, who works at the smithy and may know more. Evander also confirms what the party suspected: Eternim is running out, and the council’s limited supply is dwindling.   Next, the party head to The Velvet Haven to speak with Odessa, the madame. Odessa appears remarkably young for her role, and a clue to this emerges as the party see a courtesan being paid in Eternim rather than gold. In her office, Odessa shares what little she knows about Maeve’s disappearance, which is unfortunately not much, but she directs them to Maeve’s home.   In Maeve’s home, the group find a diary detailing a typical life at the brothel but noting that an old friend of Maeve’s was allowed to leave Angeltaun after receiving a job offer—possibly Celestia of Madame X.   On the way to the smithy, Collective Action pause at the marketplace, making a few small purchases while gathering information. One merchant recalls seeing a dark-haired, black-winged Angelkin woman in the marketplace frequently before she vanished months ago, noting her rare jet-black wings.   At the smithy, they meet Cyrus Ironwing, who crafts items from Star Metal, harvested from a Wildspace asteroid, used to forge Star Storm weapons that unleash powerful lightning attacks. Naturally, the party purchase several of these weapons before remembering why they came.   Zeria emerges from the back, sharing what she knows about Isolde. Her sister was diligent, rule-abiding, and never late, making it impossible in Zeria’s mind that Isolde would have run away. Although Zeria searched for her, she found nothing and had to move on. She mentions another missing Angelkin she discovered during her search: Gem Nightwind, a teacher who matches the description of the black-winged Angelkin the merchant saw.   With these leads in hand, Collective Action head to the only functioning inn in Angeltaun, secure rooms, and settle in to discuss their next course of action.
