SD Session 6: The Antiplagues

Month 1, Week 1, Year 942   Seeking some redemption after killing a man in cold blood for some discounts on magic items, the party decided to clear out Cella Vivaldi's plague zombies from the Treeleaf Union once and for all. A quick train ride and carriage trip through the Imperial Marshes took the adventurers to Ardin, where a black dragonborn from Melusine preached against technological innovation and a return to the olden days of the Dragon God-Kings. Vanorin got into some heated conversations with a couple of tieflings from Rakka, baffled as to why they'd be so supportive of Rakka's invasion of his homeland.   Tired of the company, the adventurers quickly set out into the marshes to hunt down the source of the plague zombies. A couple of bandits tried to rob the party with the old broken carriage routine, but the party sent a clear message to the would-be robbers by slicing one of their throats open in a matter of seconds. They also came across an ancient watchtower dating back to the days of the Elflands Empire, discovering some nice items to sell and and a great vantage point to survey the rest of the marshes for miles around.   The party thankfully made it to the site where all the zombies spawned from before nightfall, Tor able to distract Cella's avatar while the rest of the group got into position. Zombies started crawling out of the muck and nearly tore Gentian's throat out, meanwhile Tor focused all his energy on staying conscious as Cella's avatar focused all her blows on the half-orc. But thanks to a flurry of powerful attacks and blows, the avatar was defeated and the zombies eliminated. With Cella's influence in the region now destroyed, a feeling of safety returned to the region for the first time in months. Tor made sure to warn the Gilded Hecat Guild to locate Cella's avatars to quickly deal with any future outbreaks of the Violet Blight.
