SD Session 3: Betting on Green

Month 11, Week 4 - Month 12, Week 2, Year 941   Adventurers at the Gilded Hecat Guild took little time to mourn the passing of Tim and Philipe, with the winter fast approaching they set about finding another lucrative contract. Rather than seeking vengeance against Cella Vivaldi's plague zombies, the party decided to travel out to Despero to hunt down an arms dealer by the name of Onfroi the Green. The dealer had been smuggling weapons and supplies into the besieged city of Ovid, and the Rakkan government wanted him apprehended to help with their war effort.   After a long carriage ride through Broggfey to enter the Desperan countryside, the party quickly learned of rumors claiming Onfroi had been spotted conducting some of his deals in Havre. Gambling at the casinos and flirting at the taverns, the adventurers soon learned that Onfroi conducted most of his business at Le Docks under the cover of night. The people of Despero would not look kindly on a band of outsiders kidnapping a folk hero like Onfroi, so they made sure to charter a boat to Delmascar to make a quick getaway after the encounter.   The adventurers soon had Onfroi and his posse surrounded at the docks, murdering his criminal allies with brutal and magical efficiency. Karim intimidated Onfroi into surrendering, and the party made its getaway before any guards could arrive to interfere with the bounty. On the voyage towards Rakka the party discovered Onfroi's true identity: a Rakkan tiefling, disgusted by his nation's warmongering and switching sides to help defend Despero against his homeland's aggression.   Fechin proved sympathetic to Onfroi's sense of justice, so with the party's permission he freed the arms dealer near the coast of Brei. This meant forfeiting the bounty's reward, but Onfroi paid the party generously for his freedom. The Rakkan government wouldn't be pleased to see a mission such as this go unfulfilled, but the party now had a powerful ally if they ever found themselves back in Despero.
