Wolfgate

A simple town with a strong military history, Wolfgate is most known for its fortifications, well planned layout of the town, simple architecture, and the best armor and weapon smiths in the Golden Fields. Relative to other towns in the Dom, Wolfgate is a much simpler town that is more focused on military strength, education, and dealing with the dangers of being a town near the edge of the Dom and still relatively close to the Forest of Bones, though the town hasn’t faced any large incoming threat for decades.   The town itself is laid out in an organized grid, much like a military encampment, and buildings are arranged in clearly defined square blocks. The Town Hall and Guild Halls are grouped together near the center. Just a block away begins the Smithing Blocks, where all armorers and blacksmiths that make weapons are located. Just off the main roads leading away from the center are shops and supply stores. Housing makes up most of the periphery blocks all around the town. The main fort is located on the northern edge of town with walls that both extend the fort grounds to the lake and protect the town from any threats from that direction.   Wolfgate has a small, but effective Leyvarr Guard Fort, and Halls for all three fighter’s Guilds and is one of the top recruitment towns for great fighter talent. Wolfgate is known as a training center for specialty positions as well as a local training center right after their initial training at Dembe. So, it’s quite common to see soldiers in the town, both practicing drills and on their days off.   For large scale projects and plans, the town council of Wolfgate will send someone to liaison with Keylara Town Council, where there is a seat for him/her on committees.   There are several taverns, three inns of note, a general store, an apothecary, clothing store, several armor specialists and several weapon makers.

Taverns/Inns

Old Glory Tavern & Inn -- (Town Tavern/Inn with Stables in back; Modest-Comfortable) Taking over an entire corner of a major crossroads in the town is a three story high building built mostly of stone on both visible faces. Carved scenes of victorious battles of myth, legend, and within living memory are proudly displayed on large stone panels outside. Entering on either of the large double doors facing either street, the carved stone stories continue all around the room. Hearth pits are lit within the large room, the ceiling is two stories tall with a large balcony on one side. The Inn is famous for regular musical performances, especially by Colt Uberto, "The Blue Rose", a famous singer and lyre player in the Dom, and the tales of adventures past by the retired adventurer group that share ownership of the place. Features the most comfortable rooms in the town. Offers both private and group accomodations.   The Brass Drum -- (Town Inn/Tavern; Modest) A common local hangout for lower ranking members of the Guard, The Brass Drum is a mostly clean tavern that can occasionally get a bit too rowdy. Rumors have it that they have a fighter’s pit in the cellar, though no one seems to be investigating it. The Brass Drum actually takes up the entire block, and is mostly apartments for rent by soldiers of the Guard. The facilities for the apartments and the Inn are kept seperate. Offers both private and group accomodations that are clean, though simple. Still better than a barracks or a tent.   The Halcyon -- (Town Inn/Training Center; Modest) Built as a training retreat in traditional Tavark style, The Halcyon features serene gardens, lake views, and community contributions to aid in the training of guests who wish to meditate, improve their form and skill. The Inn is a welcome retreat of active rest and appeals to those who seek to train under a master of their craft or to master themself. Offers clean and orderly accomodations of either private rooms or a futon in a common room. Prices are lower than typical of this caliber due to the additional requirement of contributing skills, talent, time or labor, to keep the prices reasonable.

Shops/Workshops

The Quartermaster -- (general store) Located near the center of town between the Town Hall and supply warehouses is a simple two story building with a long porch in front. Inside is a variety of common goods for one stop shopping.   Hoof and Paw -- (mount stables;buy/sell/board) On the northwest edge of town and not far from the northern gate is a large complex of buildings to house a variety of mounts. You can sell your mount, buy a mount, or board your mount while in town.   Frank’s Salves and Remedies -- (apothecary) Across the street from The Quartermaster is the most popular apothecary among the guards. Though some prefer the Tavark medicine in nearby Greentown, Frank is a retired combat medic who combines multiple schools of medicine to make his salves, poultices, and tinctures and is the most recommended for general maladies and injuries.   Glohammer Blades -- (blacksmith specializing in straight swords) Jarak Glohammer carries on traditional Dwarven blacksmith techniques while focusing on creating short swords and longswords. Especially good at making heavier weapons for larger and stronger folk. Does custom work and large scale jobs for the Guard.   Guardian’s Forge – (Blacksmith) Good quality swords and plate armor. Sells common (and non-magic uncommon) weapons including swords, pikes and halberds, and standard axes. Sells common armor; plate, half plate, scale mail, chainmail, gauntlets, bracers, greaves, and helms. Carmen Legg is the master blacksmith and owner and is known for being able to identify anything metal, including it's history or what the metal was forged for and possibly what technique forged it.   Ashorn & Sons -- (Bowmaker/Woodsmith) In the smith district is a relatively small shop selling bows of all kinds. A family run business, the Ashorns will fit you to the correct bow for your needs and you can test it in the indoor range inside. Also does repair work.   Essential Edge Leather Goods -- (Leathersmith) Providing the Guard and soldiers with excellent quality work for many years, this leather shop is unadorned, humble, clean and neatly organized. Inside, they sell leather armor in pieces and in a variety of premade sizes, so customers can quickly get a custom fit set or replacement piece. The shop does service the Guard and has pieces made for members of the guard only, and another basic design in premade pieces for non-Guard customers.   Luxe Hide Tannery -- (Tannery) Far away from town, past a few small farms on the west, is a grouping of buildings and large bushes. You can smell the Tannery before you reach it, but it’s clear the bushes were planted purposefully to block some of the stronger smells. A group of half-orcs work various stages of the tanning process. Eliza introduces herself cheerfully, welcoming you to the Luxe Hide Tannery, asking you how she can be of service.

Districts

The layout of the city is a grid and is a very similar to a military encampment hierarchical structure. The most important resources (Town Hall, Guild Halls, and workshops) are near the center with housing along the outskirts.
