Tungeton

A sprawling city of farmland, orchards, rice paddies, and tall townhouses and wide open markets and squares, the city of Tungeton has the feel of a small town with the amenities of a large one. In the outskirts, one finds one of the many farms. Whether it’s the well irrigated wet lands of the west, or the golden grasslands of the east, or the open grazing cattle ranches of the north and south. Buildings and homes are fewer and farther between.   Mid city the buildings get much older, taller, and closer together. Open farmland gives way to workshops, inns, taverns, and small townhomes, giving the feel of a busy small town. Here the average folk live and work small farms with livestock or their trades.   “Old City”, as called by locals, is a bustling small metropolitan area with tall and imposing stone and wood buildings crowded together, allowing only for the cobbled and packed dirt streets. Differentiated by the old stone wall that encircles it, the Old City of Tungeton shows it age in certain less maintained districts of working folk. In other areas, mostly along the larger main roads, the buildings show off local craftmanship and brighter color paints.   Tungeton is one of the few large towns without its own Leyvarr Guard fort. Instead, there are scattered patrol towers that serve as local policing hubs and a central office at the largest tower built into the wall between the Old City and mid city. This results in a more spread out force acting more as local police for the town, rather than a centralized military force. The town still has the same ranks as if it had a fort, with a Commander as the ranking officer in the town.   As a large town, Tungeton has many inns and taverns to choose from, one large market and a few much smaller local ones (mainly for local produce and goods), and many smiths, shops, and curiosities.
