Damelza

Damelza is an independent town in the north of the neighboring valley to the east of the Dom of Raone and west of the Red Valley. The town is built on a small hill next to a lake and the Crown mountains behind it to the north and east. The large town is heavily fortified with imposing stone walls, fortified heavy wooden doors made of Black Pine, and thick stone towers overlooking the valley and road below. The towers always have a large fire lit, making the town visible even from miles away.
  The town is mostly dwarven, though not exclusively. The original settlers of the town came through a portal several centuries ago and had built an impressive city in the mountains to the north. When their city got overrun by a change in their Dragon-Regent, who approved of their underground city so much that he took it over. The people fought back, but eventually killed the dragon, only to have the city overrun with other menacing creatures that were too afraid of the Dragon-Regent. Finally, the city was abandoned due to so few dwarves left. The traveled for a couple weeks in the mountains and came to this hill and built a city on it.
