The Ocean

All of the continents of Norrath are connected by a great Sea known as the Ocean. Traveling to the edge of the ocean leads to falling off the world. Certain regions of the Ocean have their own names (such as the Ocean of Tears, the Timorous Deep, etc.). In the northern Ocean, just north of the Ocean of Tears, there is a permanent whirlpool known as the Maelstrom. Ships that get too close will be sucked in and destroyed. Any player that gets sucked in will die (unless they are immune to drowning, in which case they will end up at the bottom of the Ocean).
