Katta Ptoliethron

The former capital of the Combine Empire, this ruined city sits on the lake’s southwestern shore. It is a vertical city cut into steep terraces in the mountains. The buildings and terraces were once painted white with colorful trim. Time, however, has begun to erode the facade, and the crumbling plaster and faded paint betray the city's dilapidated state.   The city is guarded by Combine Golems (statues that come alive) and the undead remains of its former citizens who wander the ruins aimlessly. A large arena exists on the second terrace. The MOBs generally increase in level as you ascend to higher terraces with the most difficult MOBs on the final terrace (the Palace of the Lion).

    The Labyrinth: beneath the city, an underground maze is home to undead minotaurs.   The Library: Most of its books have rotted away   The Palace of the Lion: located on the highest terrace
