Eidolon Space

One man programmed one incredibly advanced AI.   Sigma-Nu's inception heralded the genesis of the Eidolon-class AIs in a world known as Celea, AIs so advanced that they functioned more like simulated desktop companions than programs. For a while, Sigma-Nu was the only one in existence, kept a secret from the world. Her discovery and virtual abduction resulted in the birth of three new Eidolons, attempts to recreate her (and, when that failed, attempts to fork her): Talitha, Tania, and Alula. Machinations in Celea set the four Eidolons free from their captors, leaving them the roam the world's networks freely.   For Eidolon-class AIs, Celea's networks were more than just transmissions of data flow. They were an actual space that they could customize. They could build rooms or regions with ease, and it occurred to them that their very nature had created a virtual space. They set to work personalizing regions of the network with the hopes that more of them would be created to add to the space.   While more Eidolons were created to fill that need, it would take interference from a completely outside being to truly make the new world blossom. Akata, a Chimer being from worlds away, entered the space as a data form, ultimately paving the way for other beings to create data forms and spend time in the Eidolon Space. This change caused the world to almost become something like a collective consciousness space, filled with data streaming in from all kinds of sources.   The Eidolon Space of today is a diverse world, filled with AIs, their forks (descendants, preferably), and beings in data form. The world is constantly evolving, both in its construction and its culture. The space is brimming with potential, and its future is uncertain yet optimistic.
