Bellora

Goddess of Trade and Travelers

Goddess of Trade and Travelers, Bellora is a minor God of Ehldaron’s pantheon and commonly worshipped by merchants.   Beliefs and Purpose   As the Goddess of Trade and Travelers Bellora has 2 core beliefs. The first is that trade is essential and should always happen on an honest basis. Because of this Bellora is commonly worshipped by merchants, and tokens and figurines of her can be found on most markets. They believe that Bellora will both keep the market safe, as well as ensure that nobody gets scammed.   In addition Bellora is also the Goddess of Travelers. This stated because merchants often have to travel from one city to the other, but over time Bellora evolved into a being that looked out for all travellers on their journey. This also makes her worshipped by a lot of the common folk that have to go from one city to another.   Bellora has taken it upon herself to protect these specific groups of people, and in the ancient world worked with many other good aligned Gods under the banner of “The Caretakers” in the hopes of ensuring the safety and thriving of the people of Ehldaron.   Followers   Bellora is very widely worshipped amongst the specific groups of people she represents and protects, namely the merchants and travellers. People that have little to do with either of these aspects generally don’t revere her that much. Nevertheless trade is extremely important for many nations, and the cities and villages in those nations, so followers of Bellora can be found almost everywhere. Certain cities and villages function as trade hubs, and thrive because of it. In these places Bellora can be the main God worshipped by nobles and common folk alike, with the clergy holding a lot of power.   Priests and Clerics of Bellora are not very common, as Bellora is less worshipped in temples and more prayed to and revered in markets, people’s houses, or by the use of tokens when people travel. Nevertheless temples of Bellora exist in major cities as well as places where trade is the core of everything. In those places priests and Clerics of Bellora serve as creators and overseers of trade laws, they judge any disputes, and will take the role of protectors quite literally upon themselves guarding markets or escorting travellers.
