Wind
A small village nestled in the eastern side of Magnum Opus, Wind is a town famed for a few subtle things. Firstly, their Wind-Weaved Potatoes are prized throughout the country, and secondly installations such as The Alsbey Family Library, Alice February's Tower, and The Scattered Petals Guild keep the town on the map. Alongside that, it's a Merchants town through and through, so there are many oddities to find.
Demographics
Most of the citizens of Wind are Humans, Halflings, or Half-Elves. There are a handful of more well-off individuals in town, but there is no gross discrepancy.
Government
The Earl of Wind is elected every 5 years, an elect can run for a maximum of Three terms, and they are the representative that speaks on matters of country-wide importance with The Theogany Senate.
Within the Town itself, there are a handful of community leaders who speak with the Mayor, but most of the important details are worked out by The Mayor themself.
Defences
The Town has its fair share of retired and current adventurers, along with defenses made by esteemed Abjuration Wizard, Alice February. All of which are ready to go at a moment's notice, but the territory has never had enough conflict to really warrant it, even during The Border Wars.
Industry & Trade
Many households that run a storefront typically provide the materials for said storefront, such as different herbs and plants for potions, or hunting hides for leathers, but there's also a good amount of trade with neighboring towns and villages for that same reason.
Infrastructure
As the name implies, Wind has a good breeze flowing through its town at almost all times, which has been taken advantage of for mills, as well as some Arcane Powering. Along with that, there are a few rivers that flow through Wind and its territory.
Assets
Wind has a large amount of various storefronts, as Merchants and Trade are bountiful in Wind. The most well known are The Alsbey Family Library and Bookstore, Ramona Zedelli's Smithery, and Esmentiares' Hedge Shop.
Guilds and Factions
Alongside the Thieves Guild, which everyone knows has a presence in every town no matter how small, two guilds that make their home in Wind are The Merchants Guild - Wind Division, and the Mercenary Guild - The Scattered Petals.
History
Wind was first founded by a passing Merchant Caravan, who was in the middle of a blizzard. Unable to press on further safely, the caravan stopped until the storm passed. However, as they did so, they found that the magic in the land kept them alive and safe during the storm. Deciding that this must be a sign, most members of the caravan decided to start a new settlement there. Not only out of convivence, but also out of the ideal to keep other travelers and merchants safe, just as the land did for them.
Tourism
Wind is not a must-see destination in many other countries eyes, but by being the home of famed wizard Alice February, along with a few more niche names, and idyllic views, it gets its fair share of visitors.
Architecture
Wind uses simple wooden buildings for their structures, using large structures with exposed railing. (For a real-world analogue, think Swiss architecture.)
Geography
Wind is mostly settled on wide plains, with slight elevation changes for the area's rolling hills. However, a patch of trees known as Bullseye Woods is situated about 5 miles due west of the main town, adding some forestry to the plains and slight riverbed.
