The Phantom Ring

Forged in the depths of Zealand’s Phantom Hollow, the Phantom Ring is one of the few known artifacts to retain sentient residue from the hollows themselves. Its surface appears a mirror-smooth black under ordinary light, but when touched by lunar radiance it unveils faint spectral veins—motes of pale violet aether drifting beneath the alloy like trapped souls.

The ring’s Glimmer Gem serves as both a power core and prison. Within it swirls a fragment of a phantom’s consciousness, believed to have fused with the molten Veilstone during the Hollow’s collapse. Scholars from the Custodian Order classify it as a Tier-III Containment Relic, advising that no untrained bearer attempt prolonged contact.

Known Effects:
Temporarily stabilizes Aether anomalies nearby, but increases risk of psychic contamination.

If broken, the released essence reforms as a Greater phantom tied to the last bearer’s soul.
