This Campaign takes place 10 years after the steam breakthrough where protests and the forbidding of certain tech are happening across the world of Eclipse. As a player, it is your job to navigate the always-changing times of this world, will you survive or will you fall to the ruins around you?
As players, you will be starting in a new town eager to grow in the woods of blossoms known as Roseacre with the opening of a new guild house. No one knows what the future will hold for the town.
World/Campaign Details
The world of Eclipse is full of ideas and wonders. With the rise of the steampunk era, the world is trying to find a balance between nature and ever-growing technology. While some have been driven by the chance to develop the world with machines, others are still wary of what the future can hold, driving a rift in communities especially those that rely heavily on what nature gives them to survive. This Campaign takes place 10 years after the steam breakthrough where protests and the forbidding of certain tech are happening across the world of Eclipse. Alignment
Characters can be any alignment, but clerics and paladins are required to be within one alignment of their deity’s alignment (Ex. the Cleric of a CN god can be N, NG, NE, or CN). That being said, if you play as an evil character you need to have a reason to be adventuring with the group as the majority are good, and when a player or the staff says to stop because you're doing something that's ruining other's fun, for the sake of roleplaying, you stop or you roll a new neutral or good character.Spells
All spells from official sources are available unless they require a race/background not listed above. All spells from Spire of Secrets are also allowed. If you would like to use a homebrew or UA spell please discuss with the staff to have it possibly added to the allowed list.Feats
All feats from official sources are available other than Aberrant Dragonmark feat from Eberron: Rising from the Last War as it does not fit the world, as well as any that require a race or background not listed above. Feats from Spire of Secrets is also allowed. If you would like a homebrew or UA feat that hasn't been listed please speak to the staff.Ability Scores
Players will pick either point buy or standard array to allow fairness and to make it easy for characters to be made without roll proof. Level-up HP will be rolled with the option to take the average if you roll lower than it (if this is exploited someway it can be removed).Rules
This section will go over the various rules involved in this campaign.Downtime Rules
Since this campaign isn't like normal, one's downtime is slightly different. While you aren't in an active quest (one that's going for multiple sessions) you can ask staff DMs to do downtime activities which can be; gathering, crafting, brewing, or intel gathering(special quests). This will, if not free at the time, give you time to do a very short session to roll/roleplay the task then have it recorded by the staff DMs as completed. This can be done every 24 hours. Sometimes, higher delays can be expected depending on what the activity is (eg: craft can take a couple of days). Once the activity is recorded you can add/note down on your character sheet using the proof message as proof if questioned.Adventuring Rules
- Criticals are done via maxed + rolled instead of double roll (eg rolling a crit with a 1d6 damage would be 6 + 1d6)
- Leveling will be done via level points which will be gotten as a reward for completing quests, the table for which is at the end
- Firearms and Explosives are available in the game due to the discovery of gunpowder and steam power with its many uses. Rules of the firearms can be found here Firearms and Explosives
- Carrying Capacity: Armor worn will not be counted towards carrying capacity so long as you are proficient in the armor. Money will not count towards carrying capacity as long as it's below 1000 gold, after which 50 coins will equal a pound.
